About This Course

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology (IT) provides students with useful foundations for a successful career in computing technology. Equivalent to 3 ‘A’ levels, this course has been developed as a gateway to the IT sector. Students gain an understanding of computer software, web development, server, cloud, database, maintenance and networking.

Learning Objectives

Develop the student’s ability in the computing industry through effective practical and technical training, developing fundamental understanding of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the programme.
Develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for enabling students to make an immediate contribution to employment

Entry Requirements

Minimum 3 D`s in IGCSE’s.
Grade 10 or equivalent in any curriculum with a minimum of 50%
BTEC Level 2 in a related field with a minimum pass profile.
Other related BTEC Level 2 qualifications
Work experience with two references.
Additional English language qualifications/tests may apply where the medium of teaching is not English.
